Why do the Muslims want the Holy Land?

It seems Jerusalem is under constant attack. I know that land was the birthplace of the Hebrews. And that land is also the birthplace of Christianity. Mecca and Medina are the capitals of Islam. Why do the Muslims want Jerusalem?

Their people lived there for over 1,000 years, alongside the Jews, after the time of the romans. It is also Jerusalem is the third holiest city in Islam, in muslim tradition, Mohamed was taken up by God at Jerusalem, so a very important mosque is there, at the same location where Solomon, a great Jewish king from thousands of years ago, built the first temple to God. so they fight over a land that is holy to both of them.

    Jesus ascended into heaven there…

My personal belief is because the Jews occupy it. If the Jews weren’t their and somewhere else they would want that land as well and care nothing for the holy land.

Because it belonged to them in the beginning.

The Prophet Muhammad ascended to Heaven from there. The footprint of the Prophet Muhammad’s horse is still present on the Foundation Stone. Jerusalem is also called the "farthest mosque" in Islam which automatically makes it Holy. Also, we faced Jerusalem before we faced Mecca while offering prayer. There are many other reasons too.

Btw, Jerusalem is not the only Holy Land. Much of the Middle East is the Holy Land.

Going back in history, Abraham had two children, Ismaeil and Issac. Ismaeil was sent for the Muslims and took his people to Palestine, so they were there first.

Jerusalem was in the middle of Trade routes. Most of the merchants used to pass from there heading towards Asia Minor and the west. Not to forget Arabs from Mecca too. Islam holds a great estimation as the location of many vents associated with the life of Jesus. From that day, Jerusalem has had a very important spiritual meaning for Muslims, not only being the first Qibla but also the mystical experience of the prophet’s ascendance to heaven. Jerusalem tried to be focused by Muslim Pilgrimage, but the significance of Jerusalem thereafter declined in favor of Mecca and Medina.

When Saladdin recaptured the city from the Crusaders, Jerusalem regained once again its glory, where Christians were guaranteed rights of worship, Muslim places of worship which had been desecrated were restored, even a small Jewish community returned to the city, and Jewish culture has seldom flourished as they did under Muslim rule, that’s how the spiritual significance of Jerusalem has been absorbed by all three religions.

Muslims on the other hand have an obligation to honor other religions. There is recognition, a respect for both Judaism and Christianity as people of the book, mentioned in the holy Quran. I guess it would be a pity for Jerusalem, the supposed city of peace, were to be transformed into a city of war as a result of Israeli plans, which ignore its significance for Muslims.

The Muslim people are descendants of Ishmael and the Jewish people are descendants of Issac. The Muslims believe the Holy Land rightfully belongs to them because Ishmael was Abraham’s first born, but he was born out of adultery and not out of a marriage blessed by God.

Its not matter who were there first.
    In Palestine
Religously, before prophet Jesus "PBUH" Jews "as nationality" were the follower of God, later on Jesus "PBUH" came. Most of the Jews, followed the new massenger who was prophecized in there books. When prophet Mohamad "PBUH" came and the message spreaded there, Jews who didnt follow Jesus and the follower of Jesus started to convert gradually till the majority in palestine became Muslims.

So if they were promised with the land, they got the land 1400 years ago when they became Muslims.

    Poltically
Majority of the population of Palestine before 1948 were Muslims and Arabs plus minority of Arab Christians and Jews. In 1948, zionists came palestine, invade it, commit murders and claim its the land of their grandfathers.

Politically, its our land weather its holy or not.

Religously, it contains holy areas and we care about it.

Muslims also believe some how in Abraham as the same level of holiness as the Jews accept him. Muslims do believe the prophet Abraham as the father of prophets so there must be no obligation in Muslim showing the right of possession of Jerusalem.

    Not muslims, but Arabs…
People were living there for centuries of the three religions, then simply europe decided to make new country out of no where, collecting people from all over the world and kicking the land owners out of their homes, because zionists say that they are promised!! really
